Need coverage for the whole family?
Let’s fix that!

Atlas Direct — For Families

Atlas Direct helps households handle big, unpredictable medical bills—so your Direct Primary Care can stay simple, personal, and affordable.

If your household uses Direct Primary Care (DPC)—or plans to—Atlas Direct adds fixed cash benefits for some the big stuff DPC doesn’t cover, like hospital stays, ER visits, and ambulance rides.

Please Note:
Atlas Direct is not a Comprehensive Major Medical plan

Atlas Direct costs substantially less than comprehensive major medical health insurance because it excludes many medical services and products, including infertility treatments, cosmetic surgery, and substance abuse treatments.

We also exclude prescription drugs, basic imaging, and lab work because many DPC patients can access those items at wholesale prices through their Direct Primary Care doctors.

Distinct Features & Options

Atlas Direct differs from comprehensive major medical plans in several additional ways:

  • No deductibles or copays
  • Payments go directly to you—not to providers
  • Cash benefits can be used for any expense, not just medical bills
  • No open enrollment periods—start any time
  • No network restrictions—use any licensed provider
  • Benefits can supplement other insurance coverage

Comparative Costs

Because Atlas Direct doesn’t attempt to cover everything, it costs much less than traditional major medical plans that aim for comprehensive coverage.

Our Pricing:

The table below shows Atlas Direct’s monthly premiums per covered person. The cost to cover multiple family members is simply the sum of their respective individual monthly premium amounts.

Premiums may vary by state, are based on attained age (age at last birthday), and will increase when you move into the next-higher age range. Atlas Direct is not available in all states. Please click here to get a custom quote and see whether Atlas Direct is available in your state.

Fixed Payment Amounts

Atlas Direct offers many unique benefits because it is a limited-benefit (fixed-indemnity) insurance plan that pays predetermined amounts to you for a focused set of covered medical services. Here are some examples:

  • $1,500 per hospital admission
  • $3,700 per day for hospital confinement
  • $1,500 per ground or water ambulance transport
  • $5,000 per vaginal delivery*
  • $1,500 for emergency room (ER) care
  • $9,500 for rotator cuff repair
  • $18,500 for bilateral radical mastectomy
  • $22,500 for laparoscopic prostatectomy

* Benefit amount differs for Kansas residents. See the Atlas Direct brochure for state-specific variations and information on eligibility, limitations and exclusions.

The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 2026 revised the rules governing health savings accounts (HSAs) in ways that allow them to be used to pay for direct primary care (DPC) monthly membership fees. The new rules still impose important limitations on the use of HSA funds and require regulations or guidance to be issued in the future. The premiums paid for the Atlas Direct insurance program do not qualify as an eligible HSA expense.
